Tantrum Promotes Veteran Designer Stacey Smith to Creative Director

While there's lots of great Tantrum news to share these days, this announcement we're especially proud of...

Tantrum Agency has officially announced the promotion of veteran designer Stacey Smith to the role of creative director, a senior leadership position within the company.

Stacey - also known as founder David Tann's right hand - joined Tantrum in 2018 as the company’s senior art director and one of its first hires. Since joining, Stacey has been the engine behind Tantrum's robust portfolio, working on projects spanning industries and sectors, including luxury health and beauty retailer SNOW, podcast production company FRQNCY Media, lingerie retailer SOMA Intimates, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public School System and the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream.

In her new role, Stacey will oversee the creative produced by Tantrum's growing team of associates and ultimately ensure the agency continues to produce high quality creative content for its clients.

Stacey will also oversee partnerships and business development for the agency in Milwaukee – Tantrum’s satellite location - where she is based.

“Stacey has been an integral part of the tremendous growth that the agency has experienced since its founding three years ago,” said David Tann, Tantrum’s founder and CEO. “I was honored to promote her to a position that speaks to her expertise, artistry and leadership. Her keen eye for design matched with her compassionate nature has made her invaluable. We would not be the agency we are today without her.”

Stacey brings more than 15 years of experience in the design industry to Tantrum. Her background includes experience with branding, package design, photo art direction and project management. (Basically, she can do it all!)

Prior to her role with Tantrum, she worked as a senior art director at Kohl’s where she helped create and foster products for brands such as Simply Vera: Vera Wang, Food Network and Disney.

The proud Milwaukee native earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from Cardinal Stritch University. In her spare time, Stacey freelances as a hand model and is an avid sports fan. Stacey is also a member of REV Collective, a professional membership club that provides support, community, coaching, personalized resources and events to help women and non-binary folks reach their career goals.
