Last week our founder & CEO, David Tann, hit the stage at the 2025 Event & Venue Marketing Conference (EVMC) to dig into one of our favorite topics: building brands that stick.

During the general-session panel “The Art of the Brand: Crafting Unique Identities Across Events & Venues,” David joined Sofia Duarte, the Marketing Director from Another Planet Entertainment, and Hannah Avdalovic, the Senior Social Media Manager of Chase Center and the Golden State Warriors, for a 50-minute conversation moderated by Joe Koufman, Founder and CEO of Setup.

In front of a packed house in the Westin Atlanta's Peachtree Ballroom, the trio traded real-world wins, lessons and some marketing myths worth busting, all in response to the question, "How can events and venues of all sizes craft unique brand identities that resonate with their audiences?"

The panel explored the challenges of building and maintaining strong brands with each sharing practical strategies for defining brand health, measuring success through meaningful KPIs, and leveraging diverse marketing approaches.

The first key takeaway was the importance of auditing every touchpoint. The brand will show up everywhere and each moment must be very intentional. Next, the panelists recommended creating a simple guide that captures tone, visuals, and purpose of your brand. This brand guide can serve both all employees as well as fan touch points. This panel also emphasized measuring what matters by selecting just one or two “brand-health” KPIs—such as Net Promoter Score, repeat merch sales, or fan-generated content—and tracking them relentlessly. Lastly, they agreed that clarity beats cash every time and the real differentiator is a crystal-clear brand promise delivered consistently.
