The Amp Ranks #2 Amphitheatre in the US and #3 in the World

St. Johns County, Fl – A record-breaking 2019 season places the St. Augustine Amphitheatre among the top venues in the world, according to industry-leading publication Pollstar Magazine. With more than $3.4 million in ticket sales revenue and 74,226 tickets sold in the first half of the year, The Amp ranked #2 in the United States and #3 worldwide.

“A ranking this high is a crowning achievement not possible without the incredible artists who perform on our stage, our promoter partners, volunteers, and the loyal concert fans that travel from near and far to see their favorite acts play in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this incredible accomplishment,” said Gabriel Pellicer, St. Augustine Amphitheatre Interim General Manager.

The achievement marks a venue best as the St. Augustine Amphitheatre ranked #3 in the United States and #4 Worldwide in 2018 and #11 and 62 respectively in 2017. During this time, The Amp hosted multiple sold out events and world-renowned performers such as The Avett Brothers, Trevor Noah, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Leon Bridges, Santana, and Tame Impala.

The Pollstar report, available at www.pollstar.com, also places the St. Augustine Amphitheatre above some of the world’s best known comparable venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, the Hollywood Bowl in California, and the Quinta Vergara Amphitheatre in Chile.

“The Amp staff creates an exceptional experience by continually calibrating and responding to the needs of the artists and fans. This ranking proves that their attention to every detail translates into a high volume of ticket sales, loyalty that inspires audiences and performers to return to our top-rated venue, and a substantial economic impact to St. Johns County,” said St. Johns County Administrator Michael Wanchick.

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is an oceanside, outdoor performing arts venue located in St. Augustine, Florida. Owned and operated by the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, The Amp recently expanded capacity to 4,700 seats and hosts over 40 concerts and multiple community events annually including the Saturday Farmers Market, the Sing Out Loud Festival, and graduation ceremonies. The Amp will welcome Widespread Panic, Kacey Musgraves, ZZ Top, Billy Currington, Old Dominion, Elvis Costello, and more in the second half of 2019.
